Welcome to the
PTSD Justice Project
Nevada’s veterans deserve trauma-informed justice: mandatory PTSD screening at arraignment, diversion to treatment, and statewide Veterans Courts.
Policy Spotlight: PTSD Justice Reform Act (Nevada 2027)
Nevada lacks a statewide mandate to identify veterans at arraignment, screen for PTSD, and offer treatment-based diversion.
The PTSD Justice Reform Act (2027) proposes to:
- Mandate early veteran identification and standardized PTSD/TBI/MST screening.
- Codify PTSD as a mitigating factor in sentencing.
- Expand Veterans Treatment Courts statewide, including rural telehealth access.
- Deliver fiscal savings via treatment in lieu of incarceration.
We are a Nevada-based nonprofit committed to criminal justice reform for veterans and trauma survivors affected by PTSD. We advocate, represent, and educate to ensure no one is punished for the consequences of trauma.
Our Mission
- Mandatory PTSD screening at arraignment
- Veterans Court access statewide
- Treatment as an alternative to incarceration
